PM Insight Lecture Series - 9th May, 2009
"Interfacing Business Intelligence with Enterprise Project Management" was the subject for discussion at the PM Insight lecture Series on 9th May, 2009 held at USI of India, New Delhi. The session introduced professionals with Business Intelligence and how Enterprise Project Management System helps align work and people with business priorities to effectively manage ad-hoc projects to complex programs. Some of the prominent industry veterans Mr. Alok Kumar, National Head, Aircel, Mr. Shailendra Jain, Head Strategy Business, Oracle Services and Commander Anil Saxena, Head of IT Projects, Reliance Communication Ltd. addressed the audience shedding light on the significance of BI and Enterprise Project Management.

PMI® India organized the first meeting for India's Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.) on Saturday, 28th March 2009. The event, held at the Infosys campus in Hyderabad, attracted 64 delegates from many of India's project management training providers. The formalities were preceded by a networking reception at the Hyderabad Marriott on the previous evening.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide PMI's education partners with an opportunity to interact with PMI® staff, the R.E.P. Member Advisory Group (MAG), and with each other. Mr. Upendra Giri, Founder | CEO, AstroWix and Ms. Seema Giri, COO, AstroWix represented the organization at the first meeting for India’s Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.s).

A project manager, hardware engineer and software engineer were in a car heading down a hill when the brakes failed. The driver managed to get it stopped by using the gears and a convenient dirt track.
All three jumped out and after peering under the car the hardware engineer said, "I see what the problem is and with this handy roll of duct tape I think I can fix it good enough to get us to the next town". The project manager quickly interrupted, "No, no, no. Before we do anything we need to decide on a vision for our future, figure out a plan and assign individual deliverables". At which point the software engineer said, "You know what, I think we should push the car back up to the top of the hill and see if it happens again". |
