Jamia Engineering Alumni Association organized the Annual Meeting on 28th April, 2007 at India Habitat Center. On the occasion, Jamia Engineering Alumni Association bestowed Mr. Upendra Giri, Founder & CEO, AstroWix Corporation for his innovative practices and his immense contribution in the field of Project Management. Apart from this the event proceeded with an enlightening session on “Challenges in Bridging the Gap between Industry and Academia”. This panel discussion received a huge response from the participants. Emphasizing on the need for bridging the gap between Industry and Academia, Mr. Griri said that project management can play a great role in helping students and young professionals to face the reality of the business world. This event emphasized on the need for a support system that can ensure a focused

involvement of both academia and industry. In an attempt to showcase the importance of bridging the gap between industry and academia, academic institutions should develop systems and procedures to ensure that industry expectations are met without any compromise on academic aspirations.
