The International School of Project Management distinguishes itself as the first business school dedicated to project management at international level in India.
Project Management is the crying need of the hour - whether it is in the area of infrastructure development, construction industry or for that matter any industry that needs to develop, execute and complete projects efficiently in India today. PM requires a different study program from general management.
However, even then the leading institutes of management only teach it as a part of the general management curriculum. There are no international level degree courses in project management in India. The ISPM will fill this niche and focus on programs dedicated to PM.
The brainchild of Upendra Giri, Founder and CEO AstroWix, an organization dedicated to the discipline of Project management and Thomas Bain, the ISPM has been in the making since 2007. Upendra Giri has been awarded with the Eric Jennet Award from the Project Management Institute, USA and is the youngest to be honored with the award. Thomas Bain is a higher education expert, having already set up the Budapest Institute for Graduate International Studies in Hungary, as well as drafting the theory for a reform of European higher education known as the “Bologna” process.
Quality is central to the ISPM philosophy. Say the founders: “The ISPM is dedicated to providing the best management education for managing projects effectively and responsibly, promoting India's economic development as a result.”
This is why right it was crucial to identify international partners who are leaders in the field of Project Management. Professor Georges Haour of IMD Lausanne, Switzerland which is rated the top B-School in the world; Professor David Partington and his successor Professor John Algar in Cranfield School of Management, UK, rated top in the world in project management; Dominique Jolly, responsible for international relations and Professor Ivan Coste at SKEMA, France, which has the largest volume of students in project management in Europe; The Instituto Ortega y Gasset in Spain- development specialists. ISPM also has on its board, Prof. Sanjay Jain of the George Washington University, who runs the oldest MBA Project management in the US.
The ISPM was formally inaugurated on Nov 13th at 6 pm at The Taj Ambassador.
